Philadelphia detailing is traditional with a 1" overhang on all edges. Solid walnut, cherry, maple, oak that bands worksurface perimeter is 1" wide by 1 3/8" thick for an overall thickness of 1 3/8". Floor storage unit bases (i.e. kick plates on pedestals, lateral files, bookcases etc.) are extended out over drawer faces and horizontally grained.
